The Flying U Ranch is unlike anything else in Canada. Established in 1849, it is the country's oldest guest ranch — a fully private, gated community of 500 acres sitting on the shore of Green Lake, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Cariboo.
Beyond the gates, 60,000 acres and 200 kilometres of trails stretch into the Cariboo wilderness. Inside, a heritage western town of 44 original buildings dating back to 1849 is your home for the week — staffed by 30 wranglers and hospitality team members who are here to make sure you never want to leave.

From sunup on the lake to evenings in the saloon, this is the full Flying U experience — no saddle required. Spend your days swimming, paddling, casting a line, or trying your hand at archery and roping. When the sun drops, the ranch comes alive with music, dancing, and good company. Children under 5 stay free, but will not be assigned a horse.
Pricing is per person per night. 3 night minimum for all stays.
$50 per night surcharge for single occupancy.

All Visa and Mastercard charges will have a 2.5% service fee applied.
All rates shown here are in Canadian dollars. Rates vary according to exchange rates at checkout but a good estimate is to reduce these prices by 25% for US dollars.
Deposit
$250.00 per person to hold your reservation, with a full cancellation refund up to 90 days before your stay.
Booking Policy
Horses are pre-assigned and reserved when you make your booking. If you reserve a riding package and choose not to ride during your stay, a credit cannot be offered. Unused portions of your package will not be refunded or credited.
Cabin and Horse Requests Policy
Cabin and horse requests will be honoured when possible but are not guaranteed.
Age Minimums For Riding

Children 10 years of age and older may ride a horse on their own without being ponied.

Children between the ages of 5 and 9 must be ponied by a wrangler or an experienced rider only.
Cancellation Policy
You may cancel anytime up to 90 days before your reservation date for a refund of your deposit.
All refunds will be applied to the original card. No exceptions.
If we are evacuated or are unable to open due to an act of nature out of our control then your deposit will automatically be extended for a period of 12 months at the same rate and terms. Deposit refunds will not be issued.
If we are under a wildfire alert then it is business as usual at the Flying U. Should you decide not to visit during an alert then your deposit will automatically applied to a new booking before the end of the season. Deposit refunds will not be issued.
